Detoxification is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances from the human body. It’s a daily and essential process carried out by the body’s innate wisdom - through six powerful elimination channels.

The 6 Channels of Elimination

Each channel has a vital role in cleansing the body and keeping your internal environment balanced and vibrant:

  1. Colon – Releases waste and toxins through bowel movements

  2. Lymphatic System – Filters and carries waste from cells and tissues

  3. Lungs – Eliminate carbon dioxide and airborne toxins

  4. Kidneys – Filter blood and remove water-soluble waste

  5. Skin – Releases toxins via sweat and sebum

  6. Liver – The master detoxifier, processing and neutralising toxins

When these systems are all functioning optimally, we experience energy, clarity, vitality and resilience.

When Detox Pathways Are Overloaded or Sluggish:

You may experience signs such as:

  • Acne, eczema, psoriasis or other skin issues

  • Constipation or digestive discomfort

  • Hormonal imbalances, PMS, menstrual issues

  • Fatigue or chronic muscle aches

  • Brain fog, mood swings or trouble concentrating

  • Frequent colds, sinus congestion or weakened immunity

  • Urinary issues or kidney dysfunction

  • Thyroid imbalances

  • Toxic overload from poor diet, environment or stress

Daily Detox Support: Simple Yet Powerful Habits

Your body wants to be well. These practices help it do just that.

  • Drink pure, chemical-free water (preferably filtered or spring water)

  • Eat organic foods or grow your own to reduce chemical exposure

  • Move your body daily - walk, dance, stretch, do yoga or lift weights

  • Ditch toxic cleaning, beauty and personal care products

  • Increase your intake of leafy greens and liver-loving foods

  • Prioritise daily bowel movements (non-negotiable for toxin release!)

  • Get quality, restorative sleep to allow your body time to cleanse

  • Sweat regularly - exercise or use an infrared sauna

  • Take detox baths with magnesium, clay or Epsom salts

  • Use gentle detoxifying aids like activated charcoal, chlorella, or diatomaceous earth

  • Practice deep breathing, grounding, and relaxation techniques

  • Meditate, release stored emotions, and prioritise nervous system regulation

Detox isn’t a one-time cleanse - it’s a lifestyle of supporting your body with love, nourishment and rhythm. The more aligned you are with nature, the more vibrant you become.
