Cordyceps: Your Funky Friend


Used in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine since at least the 15th century, Cordyceps was highly valued as a natural vitality elixir to help combat illness, improve stamina and was thought to increase longevity.





Cordyceps commonly grows in the mountainous regions of China, the Himalayas and Tibet. In the wild, Cordyceps is a parasitic fungus that inhabits the body of insects such as caterpillars and ants. Due to both its rarety and very high price, companies are steering towards Ophiocordyceps sinensis cultivation from a cordyceps mycellium which is grown in liquid fermentation tanks (and is completely caterpillar free!)
